Hannah Klugman beat Jodie Burrage 6-1, 6-4 to reach the Wrexham Open final without dropping a singles set. The British teenager will face Elsa Jacquemot for the title.

Hannah Klugman reached the Lexus Wrexham Open singles final with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over fellow Briton Jodie Burrage on Saturday. BBC Sport reported that the 17-year-old will meet France's Elsa Jacquemot after winning an all-British semi-final, extending a run in which she has not dropped a singles set.

Klugman entered the World Tennis Tour W100 event as a main-draw wild card, ranked 341 in the world. According to the tournament organisers' quarter-final report, she had already beaten three higher-ranked opponents before facing Burrage. Her latest straight-sets win therefore carried her unbeaten sequence at Wrexham through four matches and eight sets.

Her route through the draw included a 6-2, 6-2 opening victory over American Fiona Crawley, recorded in the LTA's tournament updates. She then defeated Czech player Anna Siskova 6-2, 6-4 before overcoming sixth seed Rebecca Sramkova 6-3, 6-2. Sramkova was ranked 146 and had reached a career-high position of 33 the previous year, the organisers reported.

Burrage had also arrived in the last four following a series of straight-sets victories. The former world number 85 beat fourth seed Noma Noha Akugue in the second round and fifth seed Marina Bassols Ribera in the quarter-finals. Klugman's win ended that run in the pair's first meeting, which the LTA had confirmed before the semi-final.

Jacquemot secured the other final place by beating the Netherlands' Suzan Lamens 6-2, 7-6, according to BBC Sport. The French player had previously ended Alicia Dudeney's seven-match winning streak with a 7-6, 6-2 quarter-final victory. The tournament organisers listed Jacquemot at world number 157, having reached a career-high ranking of 53 earlier this year.

There was no second final place for Klugman in the doubles. She and Daniella Britton lost their semi-final 7-6, 6-4 to fellow Britons Freya Christie and Eden Silva, BBC Sport reported. Christie and Silva advanced to face fourth seeds Hiroko Kuwata and Ankita Raina, while Klugman's remaining title opportunity is Sunday's singles final against Jacquemot.
