LeBron James Becomes Oldest Player to Record Triple-Double in Lakers Victory
At 42 years old, LeBron James continues to defy age expectations with a historic performance against the Denver Nuggets.

LeBron James made NBA history once again Tuesday night, becoming the oldest player ever to record a triple-double as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets 118-108 at Crypto.com Arena. At 42 years and 47 days old, James surpassed his own previous record while posting 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists in a dominant performance.

The four-time NBA champion showed no signs of slowing down as he controlled the pace of the game from start to finish. James shot an efficient 11-of-18 from the field and connected on 4-of-7 three-point attempts, demonstrating the improved outside shooting that has extended his career longevity. His 12 assists tied a season-high as he consistently found open teammates throughout the contest.

Age is just a number to me, James said during his post-game interview. I have put so much work into my body and my craft over the years. As long as I can still compete at this level and help my team win games, I will keep playing.

Anthony Davis provided excellent support with 24 points and 9 rebounds, while Austin Reaves added 19 points off the bench. The Lakers improved to 34-21 on the season and moved into sole possession of sixth place in the competitive Western Conference. The victory marked their fourth straight win and eighth in their last ten games.

For Denver, Nikola Jokic led the way with 31 points, 13 rebounds, and 8 assists, but the Nuggets could not overcome a sluggish defensive effort that allowed the Lakers to shoot 52.3% from the field. Jamal Murray contributed 22 points, though he struggled with his three-point shooting, connecting on just 2-of-9 attempts from beyond the arc.

The historic achievement adds another chapter to James legendary career as he continues his pursuit of a fifth NBA championship. With the Lakers playing inspired basketball heading into the final stretch of the regular season, James ageless performance could be the catalyst for another deep playoff run in Los Angeles.
