Sandy Scott has risen to 87th in the world after beating William Sides in a playoff in Oklahoma. His second consecutive win also leaves him leading the Korn Ferry Tour points standings.

Sandy Scott has climbed to 87th in the world rankings after winning the Compliance Solutions Championship in Oklahoma, his second Korn Ferry Tour title in successive weeks. BBC Sport reported that the 28-year-old Scot moved up from 127th, taking him into the world's top 100 alongside compatriot Robert MacIntyre, who is ranked 19th.

The victory followed Scott's success at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship in Ohio seven days earlier. He has already secured PGA Tour membership for 2027, according to BBC Sport. His latest result therefore adds a world-ranking milestone to a fortnight in which he has won twice on the second-tier circuit and confirmed his step up for next season.

The PGA Tour's tournament report said Scott beat American William Sides with a birdie at the fourth sudden-death playoff hole, the 18th. Scott had completed regulation play at 24 under par, with a closing 64 that contained no bogeys. His total of 256 was the lowest 72-hole score of his career, improving on his previous best of 259.

Scott now leads the Korn Ferry Tour points list with 2,176 points. With one event left, Ross Steelman is the only player who can deny him the season's number-one position, the tour reported. Finishing first would bring exemptions into both the 2027 Players Championship and the 2027 U.S. Open. Steelman tied for third in Oklahoma at 23 under.

Sides also closed with a 64 and finished regulation level with Scott. Despite losing the playoff, he climbed from 82nd to 39th in the points standings, securing full Korn Ferry Tour status for 2027. His finish also took him inside the top 60 who qualified for the season-ending Korn Ferry Tour Championship.

BBC Sport also reported a substantial ranking gain for fellow Scot Michael Stewart after the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in St Andrews. Stewart finished in a share of fourth and rose 497 places to 483rd. Scott's position at 87th puts him alongside MacIntyre inside the top 100, with MacIntyre still the higher-ranked of the pair.
