Shaun Murphy defeated Zhao Xintong 13-10 at the Crucible to reach the World Snooker Championship semi-finals, ending the Chinese player's hopes of breaking through at the venue.
Shaun Murphy beat Zhao Xintong 13-10 to reach the semi-finals of the World Snooker Championship at the Crucible in Sheffield, BBC Sport reports.

The victory dashed Zhao's hopes of finally lifting the trophy at the famous Sheffield venue. Zhao had been aiming to end what has been dubbed the "Crucible curse" for Asian players at the tournament.
Murphy produced a superb performance to win through to the last four of the sport's biggest event. He will now face either Mark Selby or Luca Brecel in the semi-finals.
The tournament continues at the Crucible Theatre, with the winner of this year's world championship set to be crowned in the coming days.
