Bamford equaliser earns Sheffield United draw with 10-man Derby
Patrick Bamford earned Sheffield United a 1-1 draw with Derby County at Bramall Lane on Saturday, but was forced off after being injured while scoring. Sky Sports reported that the striker equalised late in the Championship match after the visitors had been reduced to 10 men by Dion Sanderson's dismissal.

Derby's own match report described several first-half openings before Bobby Clark made the breakthrough. Henrik Meister had an early attempt blocked by Hamza Choudhury, while Clark was denied by Oliver Arblaster and later by goalkeeper Michael Cooper. At the other end, Jacob Widell Zetterstrom saved an effort from Ben Brereton Diaz.
Clark put Derby ahead in the 37th minute, reacting after Ryan Hedges' shot from the left side of the penalty area struck the near post. The midfielder converted the rebound for his third league goal of the season, according to the club's report, giving the visitors a half-time advantage.
The match changed when Sanderson received his second booking in the 66th minute for a challenge on Femi Seriki as United counter-attacked after a Derby corner. John Eustace subsequently brought on Max Johnston, Oscar Fraulo and debutant Jack Robinson as the visitors attempted to protect their lead with a player fewer.
United eventually found their equaliser through substitute Romelle Donovan's delivery to the far post. Bamford finished from close range but landed awkwardly and had to be replaced, Sky Sports reported. The report did not establish the severity of the injury. Tyrese Campbell came on for the goalscorer as United continued searching for a winner.
Zetterstrom helped Derby survive the closing pressure, turning Campbell's effort onto the crossbar and making further saves. Derby also highlighted defensive interventions from Ryan Nyambe and Carlton Morris, who blocked chances for Japhet Tanganga and Sydie Peck. Those stops preserved a point after the visitors had lost their lead.
Speaking to Sky Sports afterwards, Chris Wilder criticised United's first-half approach and felt they should have won from their later position. Eustace praised Derby's defending and collective effort, while expressing disappointment at missing out on victory. The draw left Derby with one win from their opening 12 league matches.
