The scheme draws inspiration from Earnhardt's 1981 design, when he captured 25 of his 76 Cup Series victories while representing the Wrangler brand, including four memorable triumphs at the Track Too Tough to Tame.

The tribute extends beyond mere paint and decals, featuring an authentic recreation of Earnhardt's blue jean and suede vest firesuit from promotional imagery shot in 1981. This attention to historical detail demonstrates the respect and reverence that current competitors hold for NASCAR's fallen champion, who remains an enduring symbol of excellence and determination.

Hocevar's selection for this tribute carries particular significance given ongoing comparisons between his aggressive driving style and Earnhardt's early career approach.
