Evanilson's early goal and a deflected Ryan Christie effort helped Bournemouth win 2-1 at Portman Road. Jack Clarke's penalty brought Ipswich back into contention, but the visitors held on.

Bournemouth won 2-1 at Ipswich Town on Sunday, November 8, extending their winning sequence to eight matches. Evanilson scored in the fifth minute at Portman Road, and the visitors doubled their advantage shortly after half-time before Jack Clarke's penalty reduced the deficit. Ipswich had threatened early through Daizen Maeda, but a mistake by Christian Walton handed Bournemouth the opening goal. According to local outlet TWTD's match report, Walton received a back-pass from Dara O'Shea and turned into Evanilson while trying to play out. The striker took possession and finished, with the ball going in off the post.

Walton subsequently denied Marcus Tavernier and Justin Kluivert, keeping the margin to one goal at the interval. Bournemouth struck again just 27 seconds into the second half. TWTD reported that an inaccurate Abdoul Ouattara pass began the move, which ended with Ryan Christie's shot taking deflections off Ipswich defenders before entering the net.

Gary O'Neil changed his attack in the 54th minute, introducing Clarke and Zian Flemming for Jaden Philogene and Emersonn. Abdul Fatawu later replaced Maeda. Ipswich were awarded a penalty after Bournemouth substitute Lewis Cook fouled Ouattara in the area, and Clarke converted in the 73rd minute to leave the home side needing one more goal to level.

Ipswich continued to press late on. Julio Enciso had a free-kick turned over by Djordje Petrovic, then sent another attempt narrowly wide during the nine minutes of added time, according to TWTD. Petrovic also gathered a Clarke cross under pressure from Flemming. Bournemouth survived those closing attacks without conceding a second goal.

TNT Sports' match data recorded Ipswich with 55 per cent possession, but Bournemouth led four to two in shots on target and seven to two in corners. Its post-match table showed Bournemouth on 15 points from 10 league matches and Ipswich on 11 from the same number. The result gave Bournemouth their fourth league victory of the campaign and left Ipswich with five defeats.
