Cejudo Warns Costa Faces Tough Test Against Undefeated Murzakanov at UFC 327
Former champion Henry Cejudo believes Paulo Costa could be in serious trouble against technically superior Azamat Murzakanov in Saturday's light heavyweight co-main event.

Former UFC champion Henry Cejudo has delivered a stark warning about Paulo Costa's prospects in Saturday's UFC 327 co-main event, suggesting the Brazilian middleweight may have bitten off more than he can chew by moving up to face undefeated contender Azamat Murzakanov.

Costa, who carries a 15-4 record with seven UFC victories, steps up a weight class to challenge the formidable Murzakanov (16-0, 6-0 UFC) at Miami's Kaseya Center. The matchup has caught the attention of oddsmakers, who have installed Costa as the betting underdog despite his experience at the elite level.

Speaking on his "Pound 4 Pound" podcast alongside former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, Cejudo minced no words about what he sees as a dangerous stylistic matchup for Costa. "The UFC is trying to serve up 'Mr. Secret Juice' himself," Cejudo observed, referencing Costa's nickname while highlighting the challenge ahead.

The two-division former champion was particularly impressed by Murzakanov's complete skill set. "This guy is really good technically on his feet. He brings in the grappling. He knows how to mix in that damn fighting," Cejudo explained. "If Paulo is not ready for the takedowns with the finesse and the speed, he's in trouble with this one."

Murzakanov's perfect professional record speaks to his well-rounded abilities and adaptability inside the octagon. The undefeated fighter has systematically worked through UFC competition, building his reputation as one of the division's most technically sound prospects. His blend of striking prowess and grappling acumen presents exactly the kind of multifaceted threat that has historically troubled Costa.

Costa enters the contest on a positive note, having snapped a concerning two-fight losing streak with a decisive victory over Roman Kopylov at UFC 318. However, Cejudo believes the Brazilian needs to recapture the aggressive, pressure-heavy style that made him so dangerous during his rise through the middleweight ranks.

"The keys for Paulo Costa, he really needs to go for broke," Cejudo advised. "He needs to take his chances early - just bringing the heat in early and really dig to the body and turn this into a fight." The strategy reflects Costa's most successful performances, including dominant victories over former title contenders Yoel Romero and Luke Rockhold.

Cejudo's tactical analysis centers on Costa's need to avoid a technical battle. "There's one thing you can always say about the Russians: They are all technically sound," he noted, acknowledging Murzakanov's background and systematic approach to mixed martial arts.

Despite his concerns about the matchup, Cejudo maintains respect for Costa's abilities and fighting spirit. "Paulo, I love you. I love the 'secret juice.' But you've got to go out there and throw the kitchen sink because technically, on paper, when you see everything that this guy does, he's a lot more well-rounded."

The assessment suggests Costa must rely on his power, aggression, and physical advantages rather than attempt to match Murzakanov's technical precision. For the Brazilian, Saturday represents both an opportunity to establish himself at light heavyweight and a significant test against one of the division's rising stars.

As UFC 327 approaches, Cejudo's analysis serves as a reminder that moving up in weight classes often involves more than just physical adjustments - stylistic challenges can prove equally demanding.
