De Zerbi, speaking after Brighton's dramatic 1-1 draw with Tottenham at the Amex Stadium on Friday, where Spurs substitute Georginio Rutter scored a stoppage-time equaliser to deny Brighton all three points, offered his assessment of Tottenham's perilous position.
"I think Tottenham can win their last five games," De Zerbi stated. "They have quality players and they showed today they will fight until the end. It's not finished for them. They have the possibility to stay up."
The result leaves Tottenham in the relegation zone with just six matches remaining in the season. Ange Postecoglou's side face an uphill battle to preserve their Premier League status, but De Zerbi believes the quality within the squad gives them a fighting chance.
Tottenham dominated large portions of the encounter and took the lead through a first-half header from Yves Bissouma. However, they were left devastated when Rutter pounced on a mistake from Spurs defender Kevin Danso in the dying moments to snatch a point for Brighton.
"We deserved to win the match but football is like this," De Zerbi added. "The players gave everything and we created many chances. The draw is a fair result but we are disappointed not to take all three points."
Tottenham's remaining fixtures include crucial matches against fellow relegation-threatened sides, making their survival bid a six-point battle. With momentum from their last-minute rescue at Brighton, Postecoglou will hope his side can carry that fighting spirit into their upcoming challenges.
Brighton remain eighth in the table following the draw, with European qualification still firmly within reach for Fabian Hürzeler's side.
