Humphries overturns 3-0 deficit to beat Price in World Grand Prix final
Luke Humphries won the World Grand Prix with a 6-4 victory over Gerwyn Price in Leicester on Sunday, recovering from three sets down to claim the title. BBC Sport reported that the result ended his 16-month wait for a PDC major trophy. The Professional Darts Players Association also confirmed the final score.

Price took the opening three sets before Humphries won four in succession to move ahead. Price responded by drawing level, but Humphries ultimately completed the comeback. The second seed's victory brought him a second World Grand Prix crown, following his first success in 2023, and turned another appearance in the final into a title.
According to BBC Sport, Humphries had not won a major since the Premier League in May 2025, while his previous ranking title came at the Masters in February that year. The 31-year-old also protected his position as world number two, with Gian van Veen unable to overtake him following the result in Leicester.
Humphries had already set a tournament record by reaching a fourth consecutive final. Sky Sports reported that he secured that place by beating James Wade 5-3 in Saturday's semi-final. His previous two appearances in the title match had ended in defeat: Mike De Decker beat him 6-4 in 2024, and Luke Littler won 6-1 last year.
Price, the 2020 champion, reached Sunday's contest by defeating Nathan Aspinall 5-2, according to Sky Sports. It was his fourth World Grand Prix final and his first since losing to Humphries in 2023. The rematch at the Mattioli Arena therefore gave both players an opportunity to become a two-time winner of the double-start tournament.
The players' association listed a £150,000 first prize for the event, adding a financial reward to Humphries' return to major-title success. For Price, the wait continues: BBC Sport reported that he has now gone four years without a major PDC trophy and has lost five consecutive major finals, including three during the current year.
