Harry Kane has signed a two-year extension with Bayern Munich through June 2029. The England captain commits his future after winning the Ballon d’Or and two Bundesliga titles.

Harry Kane has signed a two-year contract extension with Bayern Munich, keeping the England captain at the club until 30 June 2029. According to the Bundesliga’s official website, the agreement extends a deal that had entered its final year and settles the 33-year-old striker’s future after negotiations that began in August.

The league’s announcement puts Kane’s Bayern record at 156 goals in 161 competitive matches since his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023. He has contributed 10 goals and eight assists across 14 appearances in all competitions this season. That run includes reaching 100 Bundesliga goals during Bayern’s 7-0 victory over Union Berlin in September.

The signing follows a public update from Kane earlier this week. In comments published by the Bundesliga on 3 November, he said recent discussions had brought the sides close to an agreement and indicated that completion could come within days. He spoke before Bayern’s Champions League meeting with Atlético Madrid, following further conversations over the weekend and on Monday.

Kane’s decision comes after a period of team and individual success in Germany. The Bundesliga reports that he has won two league championships, the DFB Cup and two Franz Beckenbauer Supercups with Bayern. He also finished as the league’s leading scorer in each of his first three seasons, becoming the first player to begin a Bundesliga career with that sequence.

Bayern’s official player profile records how quickly Kane adapted after leaving Tottenham. He scored 36 goals in 32 league appearances in his first Bundesliga season, a competition record for a newcomer. Before moving to Munich, he had become Tottenham’s all-time leading scorer with 280 competitive goals, while his 213 Premier League goals placed him behind only Alan Shearer at the time of his departure.

The extension also follows Kane’s Ballon d’Or victory last week. In his earlier comments to the Bundesliga, he linked his move to Bayern with his ambition to collect trophies and continue improving as a player. He said he was pleased with the decision to leave England and regarded the award as part of the progress he had made since joining the club.
