Huddersfield went top after beating Wigan as Stockport drew at Notts County. Leicester lost to a late Luton goal, while Plymouth and Doncaster also won.

Huddersfield moved to the top of League One after beating Wigan 2-1, while Leicester suffered another setback when a late Luton winner condemned them to a fourth defeat of the season. The Guardian's roundup reported a change at the summit after Stockport could only draw at Notts County, leaving Huddersfield ahead.

Ilias Bronkhorst and Derensili Sanches Fernandes scored before half-time for Huddersfield against bottom club Wigan. Christian Saydee pulled a goal back in added time, but Wigan's late response was not enough to prevent the Terriers winning the early fixture. Huddersfield then needed the outcome of Stockport's match to determine whether they would stay first.

Stockport recovered from falling behind at Notts County but were unable to secure the victory required to regain top spot. Scott Robertson opened the scoring before Adama Sidibeh equalised in the 81st minute. The 1-1 result delivered a point for Stockport, yet left them below Huddersfield after the day's matches.

Plymouth also improved their position, moving above opponents Cambridge into fourth with a 3-2 away victory. An own goal by Louis Appere was followed by goals from Xavier Amaechi and Aribim Pepple. The result left Plymouth only one point behind Stockport, adding another change near the top of the table on a day when the leaders changed places.

Leicester's defeat by Luton brought a particularly abrupt reversal of fortunes for Russell Martin's side. Nahki Wells had put Luton ahead in the first half, and Leicester later lost John Lundstram to a second yellow card. Despite being reduced to 10 men, Leicester drew level through Liam Cullen in the 90th minute. Callum Marshall then scored deep into added time to give Luton victory.

Martin said Leicester had worked hard to recover with 10 players and expressed frustration at conceding again so soon after the equaliser, according to the Guardian's report. He criticised both goals his team allowed. Elsewhere, Doncaster settled the South Yorkshire derby against Sheffield Wednesday early: Owen Bailey scored twice inside the opening 14 minutes to secure a 2-0 win.
