Korda Maintains Five-Stroke Lead at Chevron Championship as She Eyes First Major Title
Nelly Korda continues to dominate the Chevron Championship heading into the final round, maintaining a five-stroke advantage as she seeks her first major championship title.

Nelly Korda remains in commanding position at the Chevron Championship, the first women's major of 2026, as she takes a five-stroke lead into Sunday's final round at The Club at Carlton Woods in Texas. The American star has been in imperious form throughout the week, combining silky iron play with confident putting to build a buffer that few expect her to surrender.

The 26-year-old from Florida has already won three times on the LPGA Tour this season, establishing herself as the player to beat heading into the major championships. Her five-stroke advantage represents the largest 54-hole lead at a women's major since Inbee Park held a similar margin at the 2013 U.S. Women's Open.

Korda's nearest challenger is compatriot Lauren Coughlin, who sits alone in second place at 10-under-par. Coughlin has enjoyed the best season of her career and will be paired with Korda in Sunday's final group, teeing off at 2:20 PM local time alongside World Number Two Lilia Vu.

Speaking after her third round, Korda remained characteristically understated about her position: "Five shots is a good lead, but it's not over yet. I've been playing well and I need to keep doing what I'm doing. The main thing is to stay patient and trust my game."

The Chevron Championship, formerly known as the ANA Inspiration, moved to its new Texas venue in 2022 and features the iconic primrose-yellow winner's jacket. Korda will be aiming to become the first American to win a women's major since herself at the 2024 KPMG Women's PGA Championship.

Final round coverage begins at 1:00 PM ET on NBC and Peacock, with the trophy ceremony expected shortly after the conclusion of play.
