Matos takes responsibility for QPR defeat as Swansea lose Yeo to injury
Swansea City head coach Vitor Matos accepted responsibility for a 5-0 defeat at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday and confirmed an injury setback for winger Moussa Yeo. BBC Sport Wales reported that the loss was Swansea's heaviest under Matos, although the club remained in the Championship's automatic promotion positions after the match at Loftus Road.

QPR's own match report detailed how Richard Kone completed his hat-trick within the opening 15 minutes. Paul Smyth supplied the striker's first finish from close range after Kwame Poku helped create the opening. Kealey Adamson then won possession near Swansea's penalty area, allowing Poku to cross for Kone's headed second. The third came from the penalty spot after goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux brought down Smyth.
The hosts added to their advantage before the interval when Jimmy Dunne headed in Harvey Vale's corner. Swansea had threatened earlier, with QPR goalkeeper Pierce Charles turning an Adam Idah effort onto the crossbar, but went into half-time four goals behind. QPR's report also recorded Karamoko Dembele's return from the bench in the second half. His free-kick began the move that ended with Dunne scoring again to complete the five-goal margin.
Speaking to BBC Sport Wales, Matos identified lapses in concentration and organisation against opponents who began energetically and finished their chances efficiently. He said responsibility for preparing and improving the team rested with him. The coach also stressed that the defeat did not cancel out Swansea's earlier achievements, while making clear that the performance required analysis and a return to their established standards.
Yeo missed the trip after suffering a hamstring problem in the previous weekend's defeat by West Ham. Matos put the expected absence at between two and three weeks, according to the BBC. The injury adds to Swansea's problems out wide, with Ronald already ruled out for up to eight weeks because of a hamstring injury. Matos nevertheless expressed confidence in the squad's ability to cover Yeo's absence.
The result represented a sharp reversal in the teams' recent fortunes. Swansea had lost only two of their first 11 league matches, while QPR had won just once in their previous seven games, BBC Sport Wales reported. Swansea now have consecutive defeats to address alongside the loss of another winger.
