Mavididi's first Watford goal seals 1-0 win over Lincoln City
Stephy Mavididi scored his first Watford goal as the Hornets defeated Lincoln City 1-0 at Vicarage Road on Tuesday, November 3. The winger struck in the opening minute of the second half, and Watford's official match report confirmed that the result secured successive home Championship victories as well as the Graham Taylor Cup.

Alessio Dionisi changed both personnel and his defensive setup following Saturday's trip to Norwich. According to the club's report, he selected a back four and brought Omar Traore, Marc Bola, Mavididi and Othmane Maamma into the starting side. Krepin Diatta, Branimir Mlacic, Jordan Zemura and Martin Payero were the four players replaced in the lineup.
The changes followed a match in which Watford had surrendered a two-goal advantage against Norwich, the Watford Observer reported. Against Lincoln, neither team scored before the interval. The club's account recorded a blocked Mavididi effort in the 16th minute, a Chiedozie Ogbene shot wide for the visitors in the 35th, and an Edo Kayembe attempt off target two minutes later after he won possession from Yunus Konak.
Sky Sports reported that the decisive moment arrived 38 seconds after play resumed. Mavididi moved inside from the left and sent a shot towards the far corner, with a touch off Lincoln captain Sonny Bradley helping it beat George Wickens. Lincoln disputed the throw-in that preceded the goal, arguing that possession should have been awarded to them. That complaint did not change the decision or the score.
Lincoln threatened an equaliser when Deji Elerewe's header struck the crossbar shortly before the hour. Watford held on, moving four points above the relegation zone, according to Sky Sports. The broadcaster reported that it was only their second victory in eight matches and their second clean sheet since March, while Lincoln suffered a fifth defeat in seven games.
Watford's next fixture is another home Championship match, against Middlesbrough on Saturday, November 7, as confirmed by the club. Dionisi will be without Hector Kyprianou: Sky Sports reported that the midfielder's fifth booking of the season triggered a one-match suspension.
