Michael La Sasso wins LIV Indianapolis as 2026 season ends early

Michael La Sasso won LIV Golf's Indianapolis event on 18 under par after a final-round 65, finishing one shot ahead of Jon Rahm. Rahm ended the event at 17 under, while Bryson DeChambeau and Sergio Garcia shared third place another shot behind. The result also left Rahm as LIV's individual season champion for a third consecutive year, despite missing out on the Indianapolis title to La Sasso.

Indianapolis unexpectedly became the final event of the 2026 LIV Golf campaign. The league cancelled its season-ending Team Championships in Michigan the previous week, according to the BBC report. That decision sharpened questions about the competition's plans after Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund withdrew its financial backing in April.

LIV chief executive Scott O'Neil has said the league has secured new investors for next season, although he has not disclosed detailed plans for its future structure. DeChambeau, a two-time major champion who joined LIV four years ago, said he was proud of what the league had accomplished while acknowledging that its first phase had not been flawless. He indicated that he expected positive developments in 2027 but did not provide specifics. Rahm, meanwhile, said speculation surrounding players' futures had not affected his work on the course.
