Gardner Minshew came off the bench to lead the Arizona Cardinals to a 33-30 overtime win against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, with Chad Ryland kicking the deciding field goal from 42 yards. Arizona recovered from a 17-3 deficit at AT&T Stadium, and the result left both teams with 3-5 records, according to the Cardinals' official game report.

Minshew replaced Jacoby Brissett in the second half and finished with 188 passing yards, completing 17 of 23 attempts. He threw three touchdown passes as Arizona scored touchdowns on four consecutive possessions before overtime. BBC Sport reported that all three scoring passes came in the fourth quarter, turning a game Dallas had controlled into a late contest.

Tyler Allgeier supplied the running threat that helped change the game. The Cowboys' report credited him with 147 yards on 11 carries, including 143 yards after half-time. His 63-yard touchdown run cut Dallas' lead to 17-10, and he later added a 52-yard run and a touchdown reception as Arizona kept responding to Cowboys scores.

Dallas still had opportunities to close out the victory. After Arizona's unsuccessful onside kick, Brandon Aubrey made a 41-yard field goal. The Cardinals then drove 80 yards in eight plays, according to the Cowboys' account. Minshew completed the possession with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Michael Wilson with six seconds remaining, but Ryland missed the extra point, leaving the score level at 30-30.

Both offenses were stopped on their first overtime possessions. Arizona's defense forced a punt with help from an L.J. Collier pass breakup and a Josh Sweat sack, the Cardinals reported. Minshew then guided another drive into scoring range, giving Ryland the chance to settle the game after his missed kick at the end of regulation.

The victory did not immediately resolve Arizona's quarterback decision. In the Cardinals' postgame report, coach Mike LaFleur had not named a starter for the following Sunday's meeting with Seattle. He also stressed that the successful finish did not remove the team's wider problems, leaving the comeback as a result to build on rather than confirmation of a permanent change.
