Northampton overturn 14-point deficit to beat Gloucester as Mitchell goes off
Northampton Saints recovered from 14-0 down to beat Gloucester 28-14 at Franklin's Gardens, scoring four tries without reply to earn a bonus-point victory. BBC Sport reported that the result moved Saints into third place, level on points with second-placed Gloucester, as the Premiership headed into a four-week break.

The win came with concern over England scrum-half Alex Mitchell, who left during the first half with a hamstring problem, eight days before England's Nations Championship match against Australia. Northampton head coach Sam Vesty told BBC Radio Northampton that Mitchell had felt something in his hamstring, but said the extent of the problem was not yet known.
Gloucester took control early in misty conditions. Seb Atkinson helped release George Barton, whose offload sent Max Llewellyn over for the opening try. Will Joseph then added a second after a set-piece move, getting past George Hendy to reach the line. Barton converted both scores, establishing a 14-point cushion before Northampton began their response.
Saints found their way back through their forwards. After a Gloucester penalty allowed the hosts to kick to the corner, Curtis Langdon passed out of a stalled rolling maul for Tom Pearson to score from close range. Another attacking line-out produced the equalising try just before half-time, with Langdon crossing after Gloucester initially resisted the drive. Anthony Belleau's conversions made it 14-14 at the interval.
Neither side immediately broke through after the restart. Northampton, already without injured fly-half Fin Smith, saw one promising attack ended by a Joseph interception. The decisive opening eventually came from Belleau, who spotted Gloucester's narrow defensive alignment and sent a looping pass towards Hendy. The wing finished in the corner to put Saints ahead in the final quarter.
Replacement centre Rory Hutchinson then stepped through Gloucester's pressing defence to score the fourth try and secure the bonus point. Belleau converted all four Northampton tries. Gloucester continued to attack but could not add to their first-half points, leaving them with only their second defeat of the season.
Vesty credited Northampton's improved movement late in the first half and their ability to take opportunities against strong defence. Gloucester head coach George Skivington told BBC Radio Gloucestershire that his side's accuracy had deteriorated, particularly before the interval. He pointed to penalties and the two conceded tries as the moments that erased their early advantage, while acknowledging Saints' more effective finishing.
