Rams lose Alaric Jackson to two-game ban and replace Harrison Mevis
Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Alaric Jackson has been suspended for two games after punching Buffalo Bills linebacker Bradley Chubb following Monday's 37-34 overtime defeat, BBC Sport reported. The ban is set to keep Jackson out against the Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders, while the Rams have also changed kickers.

NFL.com reported that the confrontation took place during the postgame jersey exchanges and was captured by television cameras. Chubb walked away after an exchange with Jackson, who finished swapping jerseys before following him. Jackson then confronted Chubb and struck him in the head, knocking off his hat. Players intervened quickly to separate the two men after the blow.
The Rams have released Harrison Mevis and signed Blake Grupe from the New York Jets' practice squad, according to BBC Sport. Mevis missed a field-goal attempt during regulation against Buffalo and had another blocked in overtime. Head coach Sean McVay criticised the kicking unit after the loss, saying those failures had cost his team the game.
Mevis, 24, had converted five of his previous nine field-goal attempts. His more recent record was one successful kick from four attempts across the past two games, BBC Sport reported. Chubb attributed the postgame incident to emotions following a close game.
Grupe arrives with experience from 50 NFL games for the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts. The 27-year-old has made 81.9% of his career field-goal attempts and 98% of his extra-point attempts, according to the BBC report. He joins the Rams after being on the Jets' practice squad.
Jackson's suspension removes an established member of the offensive line. NFL.com described him as being in his fourth season as the Rams' starting left tackle and among the team's longest-serving players. The Canadian-American dual citizen entered the league as an undrafted free agent from Iowa, earned a Super Bowl ring as a backup in February 2022 and re-signed with Los Angeles in February 2025 on a three-year, $57 million contract.
