Rangers drew 2-2 at Dundee to remain behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership. Greg Kiltie scored twice as Kilmarnock beat Motherwell and moved off the bottom.

Rangers missed the opportunity to take first place in the Scottish Premiership after Dundee held them to a 2-2 draw at Dens Park. According to the Guardian's match roundup, the result left Derek McInnes's team one point behind leaders Celtic, who host Hearts on Sunday and have the chance to extend their advantage.

Bradley Fink opened the scoring for Dundee in the 38th minute, but their lead lasted only three minutes. Badredine Bouanani, returning to the Rangers side, equalised with his first goal for the club. Nico Raskin then put the visitors ahead with a shot from distance on the hour, before Callum Jones brought Dundee level in the 68th minute.

At the other end of the table, Greg Kiltie's two goals helped Kilmarnock beat Motherwell 3-2 and climb off the bottom. Kiltie scored in the second minute before Alex Lowry and Seb Palmer-Houlden turned the match in Motherwell's favour. Tyreece John-Jules equalised for the hosts, and Kiltie settled the contest with his second goal in the 69th minute.

The defeat was Motherwell's fifth in succession and left them in the bottom three alongside Kilmarnock, one point above last-placed Hibernian. Motherwell manager Alfred Johansson criticised his team's defending after the match, the Guardian reported. He said their attacking chances did not excuse the defensive performance or mean they should need three goals to win away from home.

Hibernian lost 2-1 at home to Falkirk, whose only previous league victory this season had come against Hearts in September. Jacob Murrell put the visitors two goals ahead inside 37 minutes before Owen Elding reduced the deficit. Hibs controlled the second half but were unable to find an equaliser.

Aberdeen climbed above St Mirren into seventh with a 3-1 home win. Brad Lyons struck after two minutes, but Eseosa Sule equalised during a first half in which St Mirren took control. Kevin Nisbet and Ayoub Mouloua scored after the interval to give Aberdeen the victory and extend St Mirren's losing run to five matches.

Elsewhere, Lyall Cameron's 79th-minute equaliser earned Dundee United a 1-1 draw at St Johnstone. Josh Fowler had scored his sixth league goal of the campaign before illness prevented him from returning for the second half. Both clubs finished on 12 points, with St Johnstone fifth on goal difference.
