Shadab Khan hits unbeaten 113 as Pakistan stun England by one wicket
Pakistan beat England by one wicket in Lahore on Sunday after Shadab Khan's unbeaten 113 transformed a chase that had reached 154-9. Pursuing 242 in the one-day international tri-series, Pakistan finished on 243-9 with 17 balls remaining. According to BBC Sport's match report, Shadab and Haris Rauf put on an unbroken 89, setting a record for a last-wicket partnership in a successful ODI chase.

Shadab faced 96 deliveries and struck 13 fours and five sixes. BBC Sport reported that his innings was the highest score by a batter at number eight in an ODI. He had entered with Pakistan struggling at 103-6, having been left out of the team's first two matches in the series. His return ultimately produced the innings that decided the contest.
The decisive partnership required Rauf to survive while Shadab controlled most of the scoring. Rauf contributed seven runs and faced 19 balls during a stand lasting 80 deliveries. After defending his first 18 balls, he hit debutant Henry Crocombe for the winning boundary. The number 11 had spent 70 minutes at the crease, more than twice his previous longest ODI innings by time.
England appeared to have won when Shadab, on 97, was given out lbw to Gus Atkinson with 21 runs still needed. Players shook hands before the batter's review revealed an inside edge and overturned the decision. Pakistan then completed the recovery, although Rauf also survived a possible run-out when Tom Banton attempted a flick from mid-on with 18 still required.
Earlier, Ben Duckett made 105 from 111 balls in England's total of 241, with the innings ending after 46.4 overs. Shaheen took 4-46. Only Duckett, Sam Curran and Atkinson passed 20, but England's bowlers subsequently brought victory within reach. Jamie Overton returned 3-43, delivering his full allocation of 10 overs in one spell before Pakistan's final pair denied the visitors.
The result left England with three defeats from three matches in the tri-series, following their loss to Sri Lanka three days earlier after conceding 430. Their elimination is not yet confirmed: a Sri Lanka victory over Pakistan on Tuesday would end England's chances before their final fixture against Sri Lanka on Thursday. For Pakistan, the last-wicket recovery secured a win from a position requiring another 88 runs when their ninth wicket fell.
