Andre Szmyt kicked a 56-yard field goal with 10 seconds remaining as the Cleveland Browns beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-24 on Thursday night. Cleveland had trailed 7-0 before scoring three second-quarter touchdowns. Jaleel McLaughlin broke away for a 28-yard rushing score, while Quinshon Judkins added a two-yard touchdown after Deshaun Watson found Denzel Boston for a 60-yard gain. Watson then connected with Harold Fannin Jr. from two yards out, giving the Browns a 21-7 advantage before halftime.

Pittsburgh reduced the deficit through Chris Boswell's field goal and a fourth-quarter touchdown catch by Darnell Washington. Szmyt's 44-yard field goal made it 24-16, but Pat Freiermuth's late touchdown reception helped the Steelers draw level. Watson then moved Cleveland into kicking range, and Grant Delpit intercepted Aaron Rodgers after Szmyt restored the home side's lead.

NFL.com's report recorded Watson completing 24 of 33 passes for 268 yards and a touchdown. It was his third consecutive game directing a winning fourth-quarter drive, matching a Browns achievement previously recorded by Brian Sipe in 1979. The finish came despite second-half mistakes: Watson threw an interception and fumbled twice, losing possession on one of those fumbles.

Cleveland's defense repeatedly disrupted Rodgers, who finished with 299 passing yards, three touchdown passes and two interceptions. NFL.com reported five sacks and 10 quarterback hits by the Browns. Denzel Ward's interception early in the second quarter preceded Cleveland's first touchdown, while Delpit's late takeaway ensured Pittsburgh could not answer the decisive kick with another scoring drive.

Special teams also made a sustained contribution beyond the final field goal. NFL.com reported that Szmyt remained perfect for the season, reaching eight successful field goals from eight attempts and seven extra points without a miss. Punter Corey Bojorquez averaged 62.8 yards across four punts, including an 81-yarder and one that left Pittsburgh at its own one-yard line.
