The 23-year-old super middleweight has become one of the most talked-about fighters in British boxing following a series of impressive performances that have included signature celebrations after knockouts. His unique approach has drawn both criticism and praise from within the boxing community.

"People don't understand the psychology," Whittaker explained at a media day in Sheffield. "When you make someone look foolish, you're not just entertaining the crowd—you're planting doubt in their mind. That doubt becomes a crack, and cracks become collapses."

Whittaker's philosophy challenges traditional boxing orthodoxies that emphasize respect and focus throughout a contest. His mentor, former world champion Shane McGuigan, has supported the approach while ensuring Whittaker remains technically disciplined.

"He's got the right to express himself," McGuigan stated. "But the fundamentals must always be there. You can dance, you can celebrate, but when the bell rings, you better be ready to fight. And he always is."

The Wolverhampton-born fighter has compiled an impressive 8-0 record with six knockouts since turning professional, with his most recent victory coming via fourth-round stoppage against former European champion Renold Quinlan.

Whittaker has identified super middleweight world champions like Canelo Alvarez and David Benavidez as future targets, believing his unorthodox approach could unsettle even the most experienced operators.

"I've watched Canelo for years, studied his patterns. But I've never seen anyone do what I do. That unpredictability is my biggest weapon," he added.

His next fight is expected to be announced within the fortnight, with promoters eyeing a step-up in opposition to test whether his flashy style can translate against world-ranked opponents.
