According to BBC Sport, Wu's performance has put him on course to become the second-youngest player ever to be crowned a champion at the prestigious Sheffield venue. The Chinese player has demonstrated composure and quality throughout the final.
Murphy, a former world champion, trails by three frames heading into the closing stages of the best-of-35 frame match. The Englishman will need a strong comeback to add another world title to his collection.
Wu's run to the final marks another milestone for snooker's rising generation from Asia. If successful, he would join an elite group of young champions at the Crucible, cementing his status as one of the sport's emerging talents.
