Seahawks Capture Second Super Bowl Title with Dominant 29-13 Victory Over Patriots
Kenneth Walker III named MVP as Seattle's defense dominates Drake Maye in commanding Super Bowl LX win at Levi's Stadium.

The Seattle Seahawks captured their second Super Bowl championship in franchise history with a commanding 29-13 victory over the New England Patriots at Levi's Stadium on Sunday night. Running back Kenneth Walker III was named Super Bowl MVP after a stellar performance that helped Seattle control the game from start to finish.

The Seahawks' vaunted defense, nicknamed the "Dark Side," wreaked havoc on Patriots quarterback Drake Maye throughout the evening. Seattle's defensive unit sacked Maye six times and forced three turnovers, setting the tone for a dominant performance. The relentless pressure prevented New England from establishing any offensive rhythm and proved to be the difference in the game.

Quarterback Sam Darnold, who joined the Seahawks after years of journeyman struggles, delivered when it mattered most on football's biggest stage. Darnold threw for 202 yards and one touchdown, managing the game effectively and making key throws when Seattle needed to extend drives. His performance caps a remarkable redemption arc and solidifies his place as the team's starting quarterback heading into the 2026 season.

The Patriots, making their first Super Bowl appearance since the Tom Brady era, struggled to match Seattle's intensity on both sides of the ball. Despite Maye's best efforts to rally his team, the young quarterback couldn't overcome the constant pressure from Seattle's front seven. New England's offense managed just 13 points against a defense that has been dominant throughout the playoffs.

With this victory, the Seahawks join an elite group of franchises with multiple Super Bowl titles. The franchise's first championship came in 2014 when they defeated the Denver Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVIII. Head coach Pete Carroll, who also led that 2014 team, becomes one of only a handful of coaches to win multiple Super Bowl titles with the same franchise.

As confetti rained down at Levi's Stadium, the Seahawks celebrated their crowning achievement in front of thousands of fans who made the trip from the Pacific Northwest. The team will return to Seattle as champions, where a parade is already being planned to honor the franchise's second Super Bowl title. For a city and fanbase that has waited over a decade for another championship, the celebration promises to be unforgettable.
