Collin Morikawa delivered a masterclass performance today at Bay Hill Club & Lodge, carding a brilliant 7-under 65 to surge into a three-shot lead after the second round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Morikawa's round was highlighted by a spectacular eagle at the par-5 6th hole, where his 4-iron approach from 207 yards found the green and rolled to within six feet of the cup. "I felt really dialed in today, especially with my irons," Morikawa said after signing his scorecard. "Bay Hill demands precision, and when you're hitting it close consistently, you can make some putts. The eagle on six was obviously huge, but I was most pleased with how I managed the round and avoided any big numbers. This golf course can bite you if you're not careful."

Behind Morikawa, a group of four players sits at 8-under par, including defending champion Scottie Scheffler, who shot a solid 68 despite struggling with his driver for much of the round. Rory McIlroy is also in the hunt after a 66, while Tony Finau and Xander Schauffele round out the group just three shots back. The leaderboard sets up what promises to be an exciting weekend, with several major champions positioned to make a run at Morikawa.

Morikawa's performance was particularly impressive given the difficult scoring conditions at Bay Hill, where the greens were running faster than earlier in the week and the pin positions were notably more challenging.
