Boston Celtics Clinch Eastern Conference Top Seed with Dominant 128-107 Victory Over Philadelphia 76ers
Jayson Tatum scored 35 points as Boston secured home-court advantage throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs with an emphatic road victory.

The Boston Celtics officially secured the Eastern Conference top seed on Friday night at Wells Fargo Center, dismantling the Philadelphia 76ers 128-107 behind a spectacular 35-point performance from Jayson Tatum that demonstrated why they enter the playoffs as legitimate championship contenders.

Tatum was virtually unstoppable throughout the contest, shooting 13-of-20 from the field and 6-of-10 from three-point range while adding 8 rebounds and 7 assists in a complete two-way performance. The 26-year-old superstar took control in the third quarter, scoring 18 points in the period to turn a competitive game into a rout and send a clear message to potential playoff opponents.

To clinch the number one seed feels incredible after all the work we have put in this season, Tatum said during his postgame interview. We know that having home court advantage throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs is huge, but we also know that our real work is just beginning. We have championship expectations, and tonight was just another step toward that goal.

The victory moves Boston to 58-15 on the season, the best record in the NBA and five games clear of the second-place Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference standings. The Celtics have been the most consistent team in basketball all season, combining elite offense with improved defensive intensity under coach Joe Mazzulla.

Jaylen Brown provided excellent support for Tatum with 22 points and 6 rebounds, while Kristaps Porzingis added 18 points and 9 rebounds in what was a balanced offensive attack that saw six different players reach double figures. The Celtics shot 52% from the field and 45% from three-point range while holding Philadelphia to just 41% shooting.

For the 76ers, the loss drops them to 44-29 and leaves them fighting for playoff positioning in the tightly contested middle of the Eastern Conference. Joel Embiid led Philadelphia with 28 points despite dealing with foul trouble, while James Harden added 19 points and 8 assists in a losing effort.

With the top seed secured, Boston can now rest key players and experiment with rotations over their final nine regular season games as they prepare for what they hope will be a championship run. The combination of Tatum elite scoring, Brown athleticism, and Porzingis interior presence gives them multiple ways to attack opponents and makes them the clear favorite to represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals.
