Verstappen, who secured his fifth consecutive world championship last season, has occasionally hinted at potential retirement in the coming years, leading to speculation about when the dominant driver might step away from the sport.
However, Norris believes the 28-year-old Dutchman will be competing for many more seasons. "People always talk about Max leaving, but I think he'll stay longer than anyone thinks," Norris said during a media event. "He's too competitive. He still has records to break, and as long as he's winning, he'll want to be here."
Verstappen currently sits second on the all-time wins list with 65 victories, trailing only Michael Schumacher's 91 record. With his Red Bull team showing renewed competitiveness this season, many insiders believe the records could fall within reach.
The Dutch driver's contract runs until 2028, though previous agreements have been terminated early. Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has consistently expressed confidence that Verstappen will see out his current deal and beyond.
Norris, who has developed into one of Verstappen's closest rivals on track, added: "We all want to race against him as long as possible. He's raised the bar for everyone, and that makes us all better drivers."
