Anthony Edwards Scores 48 Points to Lead Timberwolves Past Suns 129-121
Minnesota star explodes for career-high 48 points in thriller against Phoenix, including clutch shots down the stretch.

Anthony Edwards delivered the performance of his young career on Sunday night, erupting for a career-high 48 points to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a thrilling 129-121 victory over the Phoenix Suns at Target Center in Minneapolis.

The 22-year-old guard was virtually unstoppable throughout the contest, shooting 17-of-26 from the field and 8-of-12 from three-point range in a display of offensive firepower that left the home crowd in awe. Edwards' explosive scoring outburst included 18 points in the fourth quarter, where he single-handedly outdueled Phoenix's star-studded lineup.

"That was special to witness," said Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch. "Ant was in complete attack mode tonight, and when he gets going like that, he's as good as anyone in this league. The way he took over in the fourth quarter was exactly what championship teams need from their best players."

Edwards' heroics were necessary as Phoenix refused to go away quietly, with Devin Booker scoring 41 points and Kevin Durant adding 29 for the Suns. The game featured eight lead changes in the final quarter alone, but Edwards answered every Phoenix run with clutch baskets, including a step-back three-pointer with 1:47 remaining that effectively sealed the victory.

Karl-Anthony Towns provided excellent support with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Jaden McDaniels contributed crucial defense and 15 points. The Timberwolves shot 52% from the field as a team and made 19 three-pointers, showcasing the offensive balance that makes them dangerous when Edwards is playing at this elite level.

The victory moves Minnesota to 36-20 on the season and strengthens their position in the competitive Western Conference playoff race. Edwards' breakout performance serves as a reminder of his immense potential and suggests that the Timberwolves could be a serious threat in the postseason if he continues playing at this level. With just 26 games remaining in the regular season, Edwards appears ready to lead Minnesota on a deep playoff run.
