Connor McDavid Reaches 100 Points as Oilers Defeat Rangers 4-2 in Madison Square Garden Thriller
The Edmonton superstar becomes the fastest player to 100 points this season, leading the Oilers to a crucial road victory over New York.

Connor McDavid etched his name in hockey history once again Tuesday night, reaching 100 points for the sixth time in his career while leading the Edmonton Oilers to a 4-2 victory over the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

McDavid, who entered the game with 98 points, recorded two assists in the first period to join the exclusive 100-point club in just his 61st game of the season. The 29-year-old captain became the fastest player to reach the milestone this season, continuing his pursuit of another Hart Trophy.

"It's special every time," McDavid said after the game. "But what's more important is getting these two points for our team. We're in a tight playoff race, and every game matters right now."

The Oilers took control early with goals from Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman in the opening period, both assisted by McDavid. The dynamic duo of McDavid and Draisaitl has been unstoppable this season, combining for over 200 points and forming one of the most lethal partnerships in NHL history.

New York fought back in the second period with goals from Artemi Panarin and Chris Kreider, but Edmonton's depth proved to be the difference. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored the game-winner midway through the third period, capitalizing on a Rangers defensive breakdown during a line change.

Stuart Skinner was solid in net for Edmonton, making 28 saves to earn his 25th victory of the season. The young goaltender has been crucial to the Oilers' playoff push, providing consistent performance behind one of the league's most explosive offenses.

The victory moves Edmonton to 35-23-6 on the season, keeping pace in the competitive Western Conference playoff race. With McDavid showing no signs of slowing down and the team gaining momentum at the right time, the Oilers are positioning themselves as a dangerous playoff contender once again.
