According to the Browns' official match report, Deshaun Watson moved Cleveland 55 yards in four plays on the deciding possession. His 36-yard completion to tight end Harold Fannin Jr. put Szmyt in position to settle the game. It was Cleveland's fifth fourth-quarter go-ahead scoring drive of the season, and Szmyt's second consecutive game ending with a winning field goal.

Tennessee had drawn level with just 58 seconds remaining. The Titans' report detailed an 11-play, 63-yard possession led by Cam Ward and finished by Tony Pollard's one-yard touchdown run. Pollard scored all three of Tennessee's touchdowns and finished with 129 rushing yards, but his late score left enough time for Cleveland to answer.

The official scoring summary shows how Cleveland recovered from 14-0 down. Pollard opened with touchdown runs of 36 and 10 yards before Quinshon Judkins responded with two rushing scores. Szmyt's 28-yard field goal completed a run of 17 unanswered points and sent the Browns into halftime leading 17-14. Neither team scored in the third quarter.

The fourth quarter brought two more ties before the decisive kick. After Szmyt missed from 43 yards, Joey Slye made a 29-yard field goal to bring Tennessee level at 17-17. Cleveland then covered 71 yards in eight plays, with Watson scoring on a nine-yard run to restore the visitors' lead before Pollard's final touchdown.

Watson completed 25 of 36 passes for 308 yards, while rookie receiver KC Concepcion caught eight passes for 129 yards, according to Cleveland's report. Judkins contributed two touchdowns to a rushing attack that gained 183 yards. The Browns finished with 491 yards of offense; Tennessee also lost two turnovers and failed to score on a first-half possession that reached first-and-goal at Cleveland's four-yard line.
